Pretty Lights Returning to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in August in a Big Way

Derek Vincent Smith, the man more commonly known as Pretty Lights took to Facebook yesterday to announce that he will be returning to Red Rocks Amphitheatre at the end of summer. Returning to his home state of Colorado in a big way, Pretty Lights has sprinkled in that he will be collaborating with 13 members of the prestigious Colorado Symphony to perform a two day show August 8-9. This bomb is a pleasant surprise on the heels of last years jaw-dropping show in which he introduced the Pretty Lights live band that has accompanied him on many of his stops throughout the past year.

The proprietor of Pretty Lights Music is quite possibly one of the most involved producers when it comes to the entire life cycle of his tracks. His 2013 EP “A Color Map of the Sun” was produced without using any borrowed samples. Instead, Smith recorded all music in live sessions before pressing it to vinyl and sampling it with modular synthesizers and other digital production methods.

This show lands itself at the top of our must see performances the rest of the year. Those in attendance will be in for one special treat.

Fan pre-sale begins Wednesday, April 23rd at 10 AM MDT with tickets going on sale to the general public Friday, April 25th at 10 AM.
