Illenium’s Refreshingly Melodic ‘Fractures’ Will Move Him Up Festy Lineups

Illenium may have had the most phenomenal rise in 2016. His Ashes Tour swept across the US and soon Illenium was added to huge festival lineups across the country. Also, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in melodic bass and dubstep, including Seven Lions, HALIENE, Said The Sky and Sound Remedy.

I recently saw Illenium at a show in Hawaii and he is certainly a producer who will make waves in 2017. Illenium dropped his first single of 2017 and the results are certainly promising.

‘Fractures’ is a beautiful track and features many of Illenium’s signature sounds.

The melodic opening, echoing vocals and choral sounds all layer together throughout the track and the result is breathtaking. Illenium is uncanny in his ability to pull together melodies, vocals and soft bass into a track that tugs at your heartstrings.

Illenium‘s sound is refreshingly different from many of the tracks that have recently gained popularity. Big room house, trap and EDM-pop hybrids have recently been dominating the charts.

Illenium’s melodic dubstep and electro house sounds bring a new perspective to EDM.

A new perspective not focused on builds, drops or wobbles, but on pure melody. Illenium proves the versatility of EDM and the endless possibilities of music.
