Live music is the pinnacle of existence for many; the one thing that captures the world’s glowing of energy and turns it into pure, unadulterated emotion. Able to captivate thousands and create everlasting legends to be told for generations to come (Woodstock anyone?), sometimes the stars align just right to concoct a perfect bubbling brew of indescribable energy and feeling.

It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, you know it.

One show that’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events of the year is GRiZ’s Red Rocks raucous that’s set to head to the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado this September 4.

But it’s not just GRiZ who will be taking the stage to enthrall fans in Morrison this September, the funky sax fiend will be joined by The Floozies, Manic Focus, Muzzy Bearr, and SunSquabi to round out one of the more stellar single-date jamtronica lineups that we’ve ever seen.

Each act on the bill could stand alone and draw droves of groove addicts out to Red Rocks; easily. Together, these artists promise to form a maelstrom of sound that has fans jumping out of their seats in anticipation.

The show’s pre-sales sold out in less than 2-hours. This. Will. Be. Big.

It makes sense, though, as GRiZ has quickly risen to become one of the top draws in the game today. With his body-wrenching productions and incendiary sax work, there’s no question as to why: the man makes ridiculously good music; it’s as simple as that.

The show-stopping Lawrence, Kansas duo – The Floozies – only adds to the funk fiasco with their balls-to-the-wall blend of righteously tweaked future funk music. If you like spine-tingling electronic funk, then The Floozies are the guys for you.

Not to be outdone, Minnesota native John McCarten AKA Manic Focus will bring his signature vibe to the scene with his futuristic grooves that defy genre and explanation.

It’s damn good music, and that’s all that needs to be said.

Muzzy Bearr is the young Detroit stalwart with an ear for rock-steady grooves and a penchant for raunchy blues-inspired guitar riffs.

Playing guitar with GRiZ both live, in the studio, and on his own tracks – Muzzy Bearr is another rising artist in the electronic jam scene that you’re sure to hear more from in the near future.

As if those 4 acts weren’t enough, the icing on the cake is Boulder, Colorado’s beloved electronic hydro funk experience, SunSquabi. A rollicking and funky livetronic trio that combines the musical stylings of producer/guitarist Kevin Donohue, producer/bassist Andrew Clymer, and drummer Chris Anderson – SunSquabi shows are an ever-changing amalgamation of tone and timbre that’s sure to give your dancing shoes some solid wear and tear each and every night.

All aboard the Squab-train, destination: paradise.

Each of these artists by themselves would make for a killer show, and one that’s definitely worth traveling for. Putting them all on the same bill for a (we’re calling it) soon-to-be legendary night at Red Rocks is something else entirely.

We’re crossing our fingers for some righteous live collaborations between these top-tier musicians while out in Morrison, CO – and something in our bones feels like that’s not far out of the realm of possibilities.

Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – September 4 is going to be one for the record books.
