Seven Lions is back, dropping his “Falling Away” remixes EP with fresh spins from MitiS, Halogen, ZAXX, and Secret Panda Society.
The anxiously awaited 6th EP from the producer was released on January 29th and includes his extended festival mix. Each track feels like a new song as each collaborator brings something new to the original track. Seven Lions – whose given name is Jeff Montalvo – provided some insight on his always formulaic approach to the track:
“the song “Falling Away” has such a great vocal from Lights on it I knew that it deserved some epic remixes. Mitis has been an artist on my radar for sometime so having him give it the melodic dubstep treatment was awesome.
I heard Secret Panda Society from another awesome remix they did for Minnesota so I was stoked to have them on the remix package. Zaxx and Halogen were both new to me and I was blown away with how well their versions turned out. Really happy with this package and definitely thinking it did the original vocal justice.”
The Santa Barbara native has settled himself comfortably in the dubstep and trance world, despite his roots in metal music.
And epic they are.
The ethereal melodies, huge crescendos and heart stopping drops are exactly what we have come to expect from the producer, and the EP is everything we could have hoped for.
