Canadian brothers and EDM duo Chris and Alex (DVBBS) have just dropped their latest work, ‘Beautiful Disaster’ the EP through KANARY records. In the new EP by DVBBS, they give themselves a new genre defying sound, ditching their old big-room house vibe.
Showing strong musical growth since their hit, ‘Tsunami‘, DVBBS’ new tracks truly break through old mold.
They came out with a good-vibe collaboration between DVBBS and CMC$, ‘Not Going Home’, to tease the EP’s official release. The first track on the EP, ‘Wicked Ways’, features Stella Rio‘s bold melodic vocals, adding further definition to the heavy track.
The brothers posted a comedic video in anticipation of this release, featuring Tommy Chong (of Cheech & Chong). The short film is about the year long process of putting together this masterpiece. The video ends with Chong giving them a gift to help them with their musical inspiration, which leads to the boys dropping into their new rap-laced party track, ‘Moonrock’ featuring Juicy J. The last track on the EP, ‘Doja (No Lie)’, is a collaboration between DVBBS and Ramriddlz, that has a groovy aesthetic to it.
When asked about the real inspiration behind the inception of this EP, the brothers get deep for a moment, and say:
