10 EDM New Year’s Resolutions for 2015

It’s time for a new year and a new you.

While we all certainly would love to ditch responsibilities and live the professional raver life, it’s understood that we’ve got to carry out some adult obligations before giving our soul to the festival Gods.

To balance out the responsibilities of real-life must-dos and EDM have-tos, we’re here with a few EDM New Year’s resolutions to help keep your mental sanity in 2015.

Save Money

Let’s face it, being an EDM fan can get expensive. We’re not telling you to ditch the VIP tickets altogether. We’re just suggesting to cut the funding in other areas. Do you really need new designer shoes? Or how about dinner at that 5-star restaurant? The answer is no when we’re talking about ticket money. Cut in other areas and keep the ticket fund strong.

Make Friends

In the true spirit of PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect), we’re all a family. Let’s use the New Year as a new reason to step out of our comfortable circle of friends and reach out to some new ones. Meeting at an EDM festival makes it so easy too because, hey, we’ve already got one thing in common — great music!

Lose Weight

First of all, you’re beautiful just the way you are. On the flip side, we understand that we’d all love to drop a few pounds. No worries on this one. Drop some of the snacking, maybe cut back on some of the drinking, and get dancing some more. There’s no reason dropping a few pounds needs to be an endless battle. Make small changes towards a healthier lifestyle and watch the transformation take place.

Solemnly Swear To Share

Remember that sharing is caring. Is it really necessary to dish out on every new festival fit? Get together with friends and consider trading closet keys. Let’s be honest: A festival fit only gives you the wow-factor once. But one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.  Swap clothes with your gang and save the clothing cash for something more useful — like another event ticket!

Push The Procrastination

Waiting until the last minute with pretty much everything equates to more spending. This is especially true when talking about festival tickets. For this reason, your best bet is to set your clocks or mark it on your calendar — EARLY BIRD TICKETS!  Lowest prices are offered early and they only go up from there, so get your tickets early and avoid paying more for the exact same thing.

Get More Sleep

It’s a lot easier said than done, we understand, but lack of sleep isn’t benefiting anyone here. According to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), sleep is essential for a person’s health and well-being.  It’s no different for ravers. Keep your life balanced, take a break, and catch up on some sleep. Your festival persona will thank you later.

Dance More

As our philosophical friend Friedrich Nietzsche says, “We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.” According to Psychological Today, Dancing improves brain function on a variety of levels. With so much positive support behind dancing, why not?  Dance your way to happiness, dance your way to a better mood, and dance your way into a festival.

Drink Less

We all get out of hand from time to time. There no denying that. We’re not suggesting your ditch your ‘courage in a bottle’ entirely in 2015. We just think cutting down a bit might be in the best interest of everyone involved. Not only will it help to save some money, but it may also help to preserve some dignity in the process. But seriously, let’s toast to these New Year’s resolutions.

Travel Often

Open up a travel fund and start pushing extra moolah aside. Explore new events in new places. Move around and cure you musical curiosities because when it all boils down, we’ve only got our memories. The World’s a book, and those who don’t travel read only one page.
